Досліджено принципи ступінчастої та мережевої теорії розміщення установ і підприємств обслуговування з урахуванням специфіки міських і сільських поселень. Показано, що дані усереднені нормативи підлягають уточненню в процесі проектування залежно від демографічного прогнозу, величини поселення та його місця в системі розселення, виробничого та соціально-культурного потенціалів тощо. Розглянуто вплив нової теорії торгівлі П. Кругмана на закономірності розміщення підприємств торгівлі. The article reveals that the commercial enterprises rational location is a purposeful process that provides the most complete meeting of the diverse requirements of the population in goods and services. Principles of step and network theory of agencies and service companies' location taking into account the specificity of urban and rural settlements are studied. The article highlights that the average norms can be specified in design process, depending on a demographic forecast, a settlement size and its place in the settlement process, industrial, social and cultural potential etc. The author considers the effect of the new P.
